Just had an awesome day walking round Munich. It's such a beautiful city.
We went to the Residence and Treasury and we were totally amazed with the jewels as well as the attention to detail of every little thing in each room. There were great dining halls lined from top to bottom with intricate carvings and sculptures, a room with the family paintings on all walls, just like those you see in the movies where the eyes follow you as you walk through the room, and all types of relics and precious stones right through to full silver service dinner sets for hundreds of people.
It's amazing what stupid stuff you remember from school. Spent 3 years at a Catholic school and out of those three years it was all the religious information that stayed in my head... Who'd have thought. So when it came to the relics and the like, it was like putting puzzle pieces together :)
Food was great. The huge range of breads is astounding! We had a sausage platter and veal meat balls for dinner. Both served with mash and pretzels. No wonder Clay is in love with this place :) oh and a HUGE 1Lt glass of Augustina Beer to wash it all down :)
We both have sore feet now and ready for bed. The sun is only just setting now and its about 9pm :)
